In 2025, Saigon Co.op aims to achieve 3.5 trillion VND in e-commerce sales.

(Thanhuytphcm.vn) – On the morning of March 17, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trade Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) held a conference to review business operations and Party activities for the year 2024.

Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Huu Hiep, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Thu Duc City Party Committee; Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade;  Vu Anh Khoa, Secretary of the Saigon Co.op Party Committee; Diep Hong Di, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Saigon Co.op Party Committee; Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of Saigon Co.op; among others.

At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trade Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) set a target to achieve e-commerce revenue of 3,500 billion VND in 2025, marking a 30% increase compared to the previous year. It is expected that in the first half of 2025, Saigon Co.op will officially launch its new e-commerce platform, which is anticipated to enhance its competitiveness in the retail market and effectively reach young potential customers.

In 2024, despite facing numerous challenges in both the global and domestic economy, Saigon Co.op successfully overcame difficulties to reach nearly 30,000 billion VND in revenue while maintaining gross profit, generating additional rental income, and controlling costs. A highlight of 2024 was that e-commerce contributed more than 10% to Saigon Co.op’s total revenue, representing a growth of nearly 50% year-on-year. Additionally, Co.op private-label products saw a 7% increase compared to the previous year.

To mark this significant milestone and reaffirm its deep commitment to society, Saigon Co.op launched the Co.op Cares platform, along with 150 social projects and numerous vibrant activities across online platforms. These initiatives have created a widespread positive impact on customers and the community over the past year. This is one of Saigon Co.op’s key projects within the series of activities celebrating its 35th anniversary of establishment and development.

In 2024, Saigon Co.op continues to uphold its role in supporting the cooperative movement. Specifically, activities related to business support, collaboration, and partnerships between Saigon Co.op and member cooperatives have been maintained and strengthened. Saigon Co.op has worked closely with the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to implement various support initiatives for domestic cooperatives.A notable achievement is the establishment of value chain linkages for agricultural product consumption, connecting Saigon Co.op’s supermarket system with cooperatives, primarily agricultural products and OCOP-certified goods.Thanks to these positive outcomes, Saigon Co.op continues to receive prestigious recognitions, including “Vietnam Cooperative Star 2024” and “For the Development of Cooperatives”, awarded by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.

Based on a comprehensive evaluation and in-depth analysis of socio-economic development, the retail market, consumer trends, and internal challenges, with the theme for 2025, Saigon Co.op focuses on achieving key objectives, such as revenue growth of 4% - 6%, striving to reach 10%; maintaining and surpassing 2024’s profit performance; expanding with 154 new retail locations; and achieving e-commerce sales of VND 3,500 billion, increasing over 30% year-on-year. Additionally, Saigon Co.op aims to successfully organize the 12th Saigon Co.op Party Congress for the 2025 – 2030 term.

At the conference, Saigon Co.op was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance for being the leading collective in the alliance’s competitive movements. Additionally, the event recognized and rewarded outstanding teams and individuals for their achievements in 2024.

This is also a highlight of Saigon Co.op's 35th anniversary celebration.
