Saigon Co.op cooperates with CJ Group to build a logistics ecosystem

Both sides would partner up in building a common ecosystem for supply and delivery services, along with deploying an automated warehouse system.

In order to affirm this important partnership, both Saigon Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) and CJ Group have recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

Representative from Saigon Co.op declared that this collaboration aims to enhance the traffic of transporting goods within Saigon Co.op's distribution system, ensuring consistent connections in delivering domestic goods to overseas markets.

Specifically, the two enterprises will collaborate to research, develop and exploit the Saigon Co.op’s warehouse project in Le Minh Xuan 3 Industrial Park together, which is located in the western area of Ho Chi Minh city.

As part of Saigon Co.op's warehouse cluster, this project was commenced in October 2023, and expected to operate officially in July 2024 in order to reduce the volume of goods and risks in the Eastern warehouses.

Additionally, the project facilitates the planning and reinvestment of the warehouse system, designates areas for supermarkets/stores, and optimizes goods delivery routes to minimize transportation expenses.
Saigon Co.op Western Warehouse employs equipment and semi-automated operation model, which is transitioning towards a fully-automated system, ensure a sustainable supply chain and support Saigon Co.op's strategy of developing its retail network.

Not only that, two enterprises will build a skillful and experienced workforce and explore more opportunities to continue this partnership in the future.

"The collaboration with CJ Group will be a strategic step for Saigon Co.op to achieve its goals and move towards the 'Logistics Profit Center' model - an independent logistics company model that not only facilitates Saigon Co.op's retails but also offers services to customers and partners," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, the CEO of Saigon Co.op.
