Implementing the program of presenting 3.5 million liters of clean drinking water to the community

On April 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) and Procter & Gamble (P&G) Vietnam launched the program "Clean drinking water for children" in 2024.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives, in the context of serious shortages of clean water in many localities due to drought and saltwater intrusion, this program is of profound significance. Saigon Co.op accompanies and cooperates with P&G Vietnam Company, planning to donate 3.5 million liters of clean drinking water through this program.

The two enterprises carried out activities to bring clean drinking water to the community, especially children, helping to widely spread the meaningful message of the program "Clean drinking water for children". Consumers of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives have the opportunities to participate in meaningful community activities, contributing to improving the quality of life for the people.

Accordingly, each consumer who purchases P&G Vietnam products at the modern retail system of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trade Cooperatives nationwide will contribute the equivalent of 10 liters of clean water to families suffering from clean water shortages across the country.

Ms. Claudine Zukowski, Senior Director of the P&G Global “Clean Drinking Water for Children” program said, “Since its launch in 2004, the global “Clean Drinking Water for Children” program has brought more than 21 billion liters of clean water to the community through the use of P&G Purifier of Water powder.

In Vietnam, the program has helped many households access clean drinking water, especially in provinces heavily affected by floods and natural disasters. At the present time, the program plays a greatly meaningful role in order to be able to support even more families."

As a participant in the “Clean Drinking Water for Children” program for the past two consecutive years and an ambassador for the program, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H'Hen Nie states that many communities are still facing many difficulties due to lack of access to clean drinking water, especially in areas frequently severely affected by natural disasters. Consumers participating in the program can both buy essential products for their families and support clean drinking water for the community, helping the program to expand in more localities in Vietnam.

The program “Clean drinking water for children” has been carried out since 2016 with the support and companionship of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, partners and local authorities. To date, the program has brought more than 90 million liters of clean drinking water to nearly 600,000 beneficiaries in more than 10 localities lacking clean water sources such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Long An, An Giang, Dong Thap provinces, etc.
